Vehicle Ends Up in Quesnel River

IF YOU THINK YOU HAD A ROUGH MONDAY A VEHICLE ENDED UP IN THE QUESNEL RIVER THIS MORNING.

CONSTABLE KRISTA VROLEK, THE MEDIA RELATIONS OFFICER FOR THE QUESNEL R-C-M-P, SAYS A PASSENGER CAR LEFT THE ROAD ON THE JOHNSTON BRIDGE LOOP NEAR CEAL TINGLEY PARK JUST BEFORE 8 O’CLOCK.

SHE SAYS THE FEMALE DRIVER AND LONE OCCUPANT WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS NOT INJURED.

VROLEK SAYS THE CAUSE OF THE ACCIDENT WAS SIMPLY DRIVING TOO FAST FOR ROAD CONDITIONS AS IT WAS ICY AT THE TIME.

SHE SAYS THEY ARE WORKING ON GETTING THE PASSENGER CAR OUT OF THE RIVER BUT VROLEK SAYS IT WON’T BE UNTIL THIS EVENING BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY THIS ISN’T YOUR ORDINARY TOW.

VROLEK SAYS THE TOWING COMPANY WILL BE USING A BOAT TO GET THE JOB DONE AND THERE WILL BE FLAGGERS AND MINOR TRAFFIC DELAYS ON THE APPROACH TO THE LOOP.
