Crash Claims Life Near Quesnel

ONE PERSON IS DEAD FOLLOWING A SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 97 SOUTH OF QUESNEL.

R-C-M-P WERE CALLED OUT TO KERLSEY JUST AFTER 3-30 MONDAY AFTERNOON ABOUT HALF A MILE SOUTH OF THE ALAMO RESTAURANT.

POLICE SAY A NORTHBOUND VEHICLE DRIFTED OFF THE ROAD TO THE LEFT, CROSSED THE CENTER LINE AS WELL AS THE SOUTHBOUND LANE, BEFORE COLLIDING WITH A FENCE IN THE SOUTHBOUND DITCH.

THE 53-YEAR OLD DRIVER AND SOLE OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE WAS PRONOUNCED AT G-R BAKER HOSPITAL.

THE VICTIM’S NAME IS NOT BEING RELEASED BUT R-C-M-P DO CONFIRM THAT THEY WERE NOT FROM THE CARIBOO.

PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION SUGGESTS THAT MEDICAL DISTRESS WAS LIKELY THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH AS ROAD CONDITIONS WERE GOOD AT THE TIME.
